THE IMPACT OF INCENTIVES SCHEME ON EMPLOYEE’S PERFORMANCE: A STUDY OF EDO STATE UNIVERSITY, UZAIRUE, EDO STATE

Abstract

The title of this study the Impact of incentive scheme on employee performance in an organization using Edo State University, Edo State, as a case study. The overall purpose of this study is to examine the motivation of workers performance and ways to improve the reward system in an organization the techniques used in collecting data in this study are both primary and secondary sources. The primary sources involve the use of questionnaire and face to face interview to collect information from the respondent. On the other hand the secondary sources involve collecting of data through the use of text books, journals, magazine Newspapers. etc. The simple percentage method was used to analyze the respondent while chi square and co-efficient of contingency was used to analyze the data collected in the course of the research; it was found out that reward system contributes to the effectiveness and efficiency of business organization by motivating the workers. It was recommended that organisation should employ well trained personnel in addition; workers should be properly trained among others.
