A COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS OF MULTI-FACTOR AUTHENTICATION METHODS FOR ENHANCED ONLINE SECURITY

Abstract
Multi-factor authentication (MFA) has become a crucial aspect of online security, as it provides an additional layer of protection against unauthorized access. This article presents a comparative analysis of various MFA methods, including SMS-based authentication, timebased one-time passwords (TOTPs), universal second factor (U2F) authentication, and behavioral biometrics. We evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of each method, discussing their security, usability, and implementation considerations.
