QUALITY ASSURANCE AS A VERITABLE TOOL FOR SUSTAINABLE TECHNICAL AND VOCATIONAL EDUCATION AND TRAINING (TVET) FOR NATIONAL SECURITY IN NIGERIA

Abstract

Technical and Vocational Education and/Training at all levels needs urgent attention for better quality.  The quality and relevance of skills and knowledge produced by the current training programme is not meeting the target of quality and employability. This is as a result of the challenges hindering effective implementation of TVET.  This paper therefore presents the status of the programme and how national security can be attainable through quality assurance in TVET. The recommendation on the way forward is improving and sustaining quality assurance in TVET programme in Nigeria.
